“DYI” is a fairly simple concept, “Do It Yourself” or “Do it Yerself” or even “Do it Yo’self, bitch!”.

The first pop star was Jimmie Rodgers. He was a folk dude that only sung songs about trains and he hopped trains to go play ’dem songs and soon become the first pop artist, meaning popular artist, and he was country. He was a country singer who loved trains. Not sure if he shot any rats, but he loved trains for sure.

They kinda look the same.

But here’s the difference. Jimmie Rodgers did it himself. He wrote his own songs. Hopped trains to spread the word. And, I guess he didn’t record his own stuff, but hell, Mr. Rogers is corporate evil!
